KILIMANJARO

METERS (OR 19,341 FEET) ABOVE SEA LEVEL

Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak and one of the Seven Summits, stands at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. Located in Tanzania, this majestic dormant volcano attracts trekkers from around the world, offering a range of experiences that challenge adventurers both physically and mentally. Whether you're a seasoned mountaineer or a first-time climber, Kilimanjaro offers an unforgettable journey.

When to visit Kilimanjaro

The best time to climb Kilimanjaro is during the dry season. The peak trekking months are:

January to March: The weather is typically dry and sunny, with cool temperatures and clear skies, offering great visibility.

June to October: This is the main tourist season, with dry conditions and stable weather, making it ideal for a summit attempt.

Avoid the rainy seasons (April, May, and November) due to wet trails, unpredictable weather, and the risk of avalanches.

Good to know

Altitude sickness is the biggest risk when climbing Kilimanjaro. Even experienced trekkers can struggle due to the rapid altitude gain, which is why proper acclimatization and hydration are critical.

Kilimanjaro’s diverse ecosystems range from tropical rainforests to alpine deserts, and temperatures can range from below freezing at the summit to sweltering heat at the base.

While no technical climbing skills are required, the trek is still physically demanding due to the high altitude, long daily walks, and steep terrain. Rest assured; Kilimanjaro can be climbed by anyone between 15 and 95 years old!
